New Deep Field Image
NASA James Webb Space Telescope
Landscape Print

President Joe Biden recently revealed this stunning image of galaxy cluster SMACS 0723, known as Webb’s First Deep Field, during a White House event.

"Thousands of galaxies – including the faintest objects ever observed in the infrared – have appeared in Webb’s view for the first time. This slice of the vast universe covers a patch of sky approximately the size of a grain of sand held at arm’s length by someone on the ground.

This deep field, taken by Webb’s Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam), is a composite made from images at different wavelengths, totaling 12.5 hours – achieving depths at infrared wavelengths beyond the Hubble Space Telescope’s deepest fields, which took weeks.

The image shows the galaxy cluster SMACS 0723 as it appeared 4.6 billion years ago. The combined mass of this galaxy cluster acts as a gravitational lens, magnifying much more distant galaxies behind it. Webb’s NIRCam has brought those distant galaxies into sharp focus – they have tiny, faint structures that have never been seen before, including star clusters and diffuse features. Researchers will soon begin to learn more about the galaxies’ masses, ages, histories, and compositions, as Webb seeks the earliest galaxies in the universe."

Publisher's Note:
See below gif for a comparison between the image quality of Hubble Telescope with this newest release. While much of the quality is lost in this gif, we can see the Webb's upgraded hardware allows it to see many of the very red objects that are almost invisible to Hubble.

Sizes are in inches and these are our defaults. If you require custom border sizes or no border, then please contact us or specify in the comments section at Checkout.

Unframed Premium and Fine Art Prints

Prints over 11"x14" come with borders by default.

All images are cropped to fit the selected size within +/- .5". Therefore, some part of the image may not appear in the final print, when comparing to the online thumbnail. This missing part may appear on the sides or the top and bottom. This is a standard printing practice so that the finished product will fit standard frame sizes. This cropping is the default action.

If you would like uncropped images, tell us by putting a note in the comment section at Checkout. Keep in mind that the uncropped image size will always be smaller than the ordered size.

The actual sizes of objects in the image may not vary within 1/2" due to printer resizing during the final print imaging on the printers.

The James Webb New Deep Field image is absolutely incredible. It’s one of those rare pieces you can stand in front of and just get lost in. Looking at it, you can’t help but feel the mystery and scale of the universe and reflect a little on our own origins.

The print quality is excellent as well. Sharp detail, rich contrast, and beautifully produced overall. It feels more like owning a window into space than just a photograph. Very happy with it.

Sky Image Lab Provides Bad Products/Service

Sky Image Lab provided a close up view, not the full photo that I ordered. The print is blurry and unclear. I sent a communication to them about this, and they did not respond. I would highly recommend not using their service to order Webb photos.
